Xaxli’p is recruiting a new Executive Director to provide highly innovative, relationship-centred, and solutions-based leadership.
Xaxli’p is one of the 11 communities comprising the St’at’imc Nation and is in the Fountain Valley north of Lillooet. Xaxli’p administration provides programs that span Business Development, Finance, Health, Child and Family Development, Social Development, Housing, Education, Public Works, Lands Management and Economic Development.
Reporting to Xaxli’p Chief & Council, the Executive Director will be a proactive leader focused on creating new business opportunities and partnerships and ensuring the successful delivery of all programs and services. They will ensure all decisions and actions meet the relevant legislation, policies, and procedures that govern Xaxli’p, and any other Laws enacted by the Xaxli’p Council from time to time.
We are looking for an individual with several years of experience in progressively senior roles related to the role, with experience working in and/or a strong appreciation for First Nations’ governments and organizations. The ability to navigate complexity and provide compelling solutions to challenges that arise within various administrative portfolios will be essential. Proven experience building relationships within a multilayered environment and, as a result, supporting the delivery of a diverse set of goals from several partners and functional areas is critical. The Executive Director will bring deep strategic and technical abilities in a variety of areas connected to this position, including finance, business and economic development, government negotiations, community and social services operations, and governance and hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration, entrepreneurship, economic development, or a related area of study. An equivalent combination of relevant post-secondary education, training and substantial experience may also be considered.
The position is a permanent role, with health benefits, and a salary range between $100,000 - $150,000.
