Description

Job Summary:
The Finance Clerk is responsible for assisting in the CCIB financial wellbeing and manage all monetary functions to achieve CCIB financial objectives and goals. The duties include assisting in managing budgets, finances and assisting staff with the development and submission of annual budgets, assist in evaluating financial statements, assist managers, Chief and Council with the interpretation of financial statements, make recommendations to address areas of surplus or deficits, develop and implements financial policies and procedures (when needed). The Finance Clerk shall assist in coordinating the creation and sharing of financial reports periodically.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and posts invoices;
  • Process emergency payments as needed;
  • Process medical travel as needed;
  • Assist in processing payroll on designated date as identified;
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliation for all bank accounts in a timely manner.
  • Process accounts payable and receivables;
  • Assist in stablishing and maintaining financial policies and controls
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining financial reports
  • Assist in preparing financial budgets and plans;

Qualifications

  • Accounting Certificate or Diploma
  • Experience in various accounting software
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Time management and prioritization skills.
  • Experience working independently and part of a team.
  • Required: Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License with a clean Drivers Abstract and reliabletransportation.
  • Required: Clear Criminal Record Check

Preference for experience in First Nation services.
Preference for members of Sek'wel'was
Salary Range: $25.00 - $28.00 hour - Dependent on qualifications and experience
Term:Indefinite (Upon Completion of Probation)
Scope:Full Time, 35 Hours per week
