Works varies seasonally. Carry out janitorial and general maintenance; set up and tear down for events; perform ice resurfacing operations; monitor refrigeration plant; complete checks on facility maintenance equipment; maintains security of the property; assists the public in their use of the entire facility; performs other duties as required. 

Required Abilities and Skills

Ability to effectively carry out oral and written instructions and keep maintenance and service records, ; knowledge of standard methods and equipment used in building maintenance and service records; knowledge of standard methods and equipment used in building maintenance; must be capable of carrying out duties without direct supervision; must have sufficient strength and agility to perform required duties; proven ability to communicate and work effectively with co-workers and public.

Required Training and Experience

Highschool Diploma, plus preferred completion of a Building Service Maintenance course and/or Ice Maker's Course and/or Facility Operator's course. A minimum of six (6) months job related experience operating ice resurfacing equipment or building maintenance is preferred. 

Position Status

Part-time Seasonal, as required.

Wages as per CUPE Collective Agreement, Local 173
