Description

We are seeking a skilled mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in industrial equipment, automotive diagnostics, and equipment repair.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary: $43.00-$60.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough inspections of vehicles to assess their performance and identify faults or malfunctions.
  • Use diagnostic tools and other testing equipment to accurately diagnose issues and determine repairs.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools.
  • Conduct tests on repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and servicing heavy trucks.
  • Maintain detailed records of all services performed and repairs completed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients about their vehicle needs and provide excellent customer service.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to minimize downtime and extend vehicle lifespan.
  • Manage an inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring necessary components are available when needed.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests to minimize vehicle downtime and ensure vehicles are back in service quickly.
  • Work collaboratively with other mechanics and team members to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks meet quality standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical parts to ensure proper functioning.
  • Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or ensure they work properly.
  • Replace worn or broken parts such as brake pads, wheel bearings, and sensors.
  • Ensure shop equipment is operating by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance.
  • Fabricate and modify parts as required, using appropriate tools and machinery.
  • Provide roadside assistance and repairs as necessary, ensuring quick resolution.
  • Document vehicle maintenance and repair activities accurately to support warranty claims and customer inquiries.

Education, Experience and Skills required

  • Completion of secondary school.
  • Completion of apprenticeship program or minimum 2-3 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of engine systems and components.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to direct subordinates and work with minimal supervision.
