The Rural and Remote Division of Family Practice is hiring a Chapter Coordinator. This is a hybrid role — work will be delivered both on-site in Ashcroft, Lillooet, and Lytton and from a home office, travel between communities is required. It is an expectation that the successful candidate will have the ability to access reliable and safe travel between community — a personal vehicle is necessary in order to perform duties associated with this role.
Reports to: Manager, Programs and Special Projects and Primary Care Network Manager
Employment Type: Part-time, 30 hours/week (one year contract, with potential to be extended)
Compensation: $39-45 per hour, based on education and experience.
Our mission is to support and enable rural physicians to enhance rural health, rural work, and rural living in their communities. Our vision is to deliver locally developed, innovative, accessible, and sustainable health services for thriving rural communities. The Chapter Coordinator for Ashcroft, Lillooet & Lytton will be supported by the central RRDFP team, the local Chapter Physician Leads, and a network of fellow Chapter Coordinators. The Division is an independent non-profit society led by a Board of Directors.
Coordinator (Chapter)
Reporting to the Manager supporting the Interior Region, the Chapter Coordinator for Ashcroft, Lillooet & Lytton will coordinate logistics of local projects and initiatives according to RRDFP's strategic direction and oversight as well as support the planning and implementation of the Interior Rural Primary Care Network. This role involves collaboration with our local members as well as Interior Health, local First Nations, the First Nations Health Authority and other partners as we work together to strengthen and support local primary care.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain supportive relationships with members, the RRDFP central team, other divisional chapters, local and provincial partners, key stakeholders
- Support chapter members within the Division’s scope of services. Link members to appropriate resources as needed
- Ensure regular touch points with the Chapter Physician Lead regarding chapter work
- Work with the RRDFP central team, Primary Care Network Managers, and Chapter Physician Lead to support the achievement of organizational goals, objectives and outcomes of various initiatives
- Plan, facilitate, minute and follow up on action items for virtual and in-person meetings within the chapter and for partnered initiatives
- Ensure all reporting timelines are met, including financial invoicing and reporting, project and chapter activity reports, funder requests, etc.
- Work with local Indigenous partners to incorporate cultural safety and humility into all Chapter work
- Support efforts to recruit and retain new primary care providers to Ashcroft, Lillooet & Lytton
- Work with the Attachment Coordinator to support local relationships with the Health Connect Registry
- Contribute to RRDFP communication efforts such as creating content, supplying photographs on chapter’s activities, promotion of the local community
- Maintain accurate and up to date organizational documentation within the RRDFP document hub, across all initiatives and activities
- Participate in meetings with RRDFP central team, other Chapter Coordinators, Primary Care Network meetings and regional and provincial meetings
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Preferred Education, Training and Experience
- Degree in business administration, public administration, healthcare or related discipline
- Minimum of two years experience in administration or coordination roles
- Experience in working in professional settings that require confidentiality, discretion, tact and diplomacy
- Must be eligible to work in Canada

- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others
- Flexible and adaptable to changing work demands
- Proven ability to use Microsoft Office Suite of tools for collection and presentation of information

- Group facilitation skills
- Familiarity with the healthcare system or willingness to learn
- Maintains confidentiality and able to handle sensitive and confidential assignments with tact and diplomacy
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with ability to liaise with Division members and Division partners in a professional manner
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings or weekends

Additional Information
This is a part-time role and standard hours of work for this position will be 30 hours per week between the hours of 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM. To respond to business needs, the ideal candidate will be flexible to occasionally work outside of normal business hours such as early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed.
