Description

Applications are now being accepted for the seasonal part-time position of Lifeguard/Swim Instructor at the Lillooet & District REC Centre. Scope:

As a Lifeguard/Swim instructor you will provide a safe, and welcoming environment for users. You will perform routine maintenance such as cleaning change rooms and performing regular checks of water quality and equipment functions.

You will be required to teach group and private lessons.

You will assist with planning and running special event swims such as game days and loonie swims.

You must be comfortable with a flexible work schedule and shiftwork and have the ability to work both as a member of a team and unsupervised.  

Hours of work: Seasonal, part time shift work required, includes evenings and weekends.

Season start date: September 25, 2023. Anticipated end date: July 1, 2024.

Rate of Pay: $21.65 to $25.78 per hour, based on qualifications as per CUPE Collective Agreement, Local 173.

Required Qualifications

: • 16 years of age (minimum)

 • Current National Lifeguard Award- Pool option

 • Current Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Instructor

• CPR “C” with AED (current within 1 year)

• Standard First Aid or equivalent (current within 2 years)

• WHMIS  Preferred Qualifications • Aquatic fitness instructor  

• Pool Operators Level 1
